Hi Jo! Yes, you’re right: Starbucks eliminated the previous custom card option. There’s been a lot of talk of that on MyStarbucksIdea, and you can vote this idea “up” to show you want custom cards back:

I also have heard that Canada get rewards on 10-4. It sounds like you’re getting the same version of the program that we have in the US. Which means the same pros and cons. I desperately need to write a new rewards blog post. Big pros: Free drinks and coupons. Big con: The reward is essentially ‘per receipt’ and doesn’t have any real relationship to what you spend. This means that people who spend more, don’t receive any greater reward, so there isn’t too much incentive to ‘add on’ things at the register.

Melody, do you know if they are no longer offering the custom card option? The link just seems to lead to their e-cards. I was thinking about getting a replacement of the personalized card I have, as I’ve already had to glue it back together once, but it doesn’t look like I’ll be able to.

Also, it appears that Canada is launching the Rewards program nation-wide on October 4th, at least according to the email I got last night saying they’ll transfer my stars over from Calgary’s test program.

Cute card…I often played around on that website designing cards. I like the simple white cup design the best I think.
Is anyone aware of any sites or groups (not eBay!!) where people have Starbucks cards they are willing to trade or sell? There are a few older designs that I don’t really think are super rare that I would like to have.

I like the custom cards, but I’m concerned about their durability. Mine started coming apart at the edges, probably my fault for having it loose in my back pocket, and it feels thinner and flimsier than the regular plastic cards. Still, it might be worth it for the cool design.

To those who have mentioned having multiple Starbucks cards: If you register your cards online, you can transfer your value from one card to another, and consolidate them if you want.

I ordered a personlized Starbucks Card when they first came out…I gave it to a barista who collects cards. Now I wonder how many customers cards she has?
