@BCav – Aww yes the “Your barista is” was a nice touch! That seems like it was from eons ago. I have thought a lot about doing another one of this same contest because this will be a year old in Feb 2011 (when I did the contest) but I am afraid it would be a total failure. There is so little chalk art left in any Starbucks. It leaves me heartbroken. A store seems sterile with some unique chalk art.

I love getting to change the chalkboards at work. I really wish we still had the “your barista is:” signs on our espresso machines.. I miss drawing my picture every shift!

Love this!

I actually tried this with pastels (couldn’t use chalk, my husband has bad allergies, but my sister had some pastels that were like, a cross between chalk and a crayon) to maybe get some pictures to put up in my kitchen- trying to make it coffee shop themed.

I failed. Pretty miserably- ha. So, it”s for sure not as easy as it looks.

I cannot express that in English well, but these prominent art should be shown in the art museum of each place. Also, in each country. The language is not necessary for art.

I wish I always had my camera with me at work. I’m trying to be better about having it w/ me all the time in general. Life passes so quickly and it isn’t just the big events that make up life. I just had that really impressed upon me by flipping through a friends beautifiul scrapbook. Anyway…there have been a few signs since this that I wish I had captured in our cafe! Our girls rock the chalk art (well, among other things ).
