I once had a Starbucks blend that originated from Yemen. I loved it but since haven’t seen it anywhere. Can you tell me the name of the bean or blend?
Thanks
Starbucks also has Kape Vinta, an international coffee offered only in the Philippines
one of my previous starbucks partners up in crescent city california had mentioned you graced them with your presence…id love to meet you. im currently working @ 1100 4th street starbucks in san rafael california. id LOVE for you to stop in if you ever make it down. she also mentioned u bringing South of the Clouds and other rare coffees, all i could say is for once was still working up there. thank you for sharing your knowledge

Can’t forget about Organic Yukon Blend. The bear is back!
@jetblue711 – You’re right! Some how I had missed Organic Yukon. The menu board has been updated now to include Yukon, and I added in a few more links. Thanks for your help and sharp eye!
Melody
Melody – you should consider doing a product or coffee graveyard for Starbucks. Ben and Jerrys has tombstones for their retired flavors (Rainforest Crunch, etc.)
It would be nice to see coffees (and products ex: Chantico) from yesteryear honored somewhere.
do you know the Ethiopia Sidamo is gone now? Sad day. We don’t even get to try the new one either. (sometimes that happens in Canada). Sidamo was the favorite of one of our baristas.
@CAbarista – Yeah this menu board needs quite a bit of updating. I haven’t listed Gazebo Blend as well as a few others. I just haven’t had the time.
I like CD’s idea of the retired products and coffees. Of course only the coffees would be referenced on the whole bean board, but you could make something seperate for the retired beverages.
they’re selling the mocha sanini in japan as well.
Where’s the Colombia Narino Supremo?
Currently in Indonesia they’re selling the full range of Sumatra beans, the Sumatra Aceh, Lake Toba, Siborong-Borong and Mandheling, they are running out fast so have to grab it quickly
Did I not see it?
Three Region Blend. Offered for such a short period ..
My favorite coffee Starbucks ever offered was Burundi Kayanza! The main flavor in it was blackberry! I keep hoping to see they bring it back.
How many of these have you tried Melody?
So many coffees…. So few tried…
Much to look forward to! That’s a goal for this year… Explore more!
I love Sarbucks Christmas blend but unfortunately it is not available now. Does anyone know which current blend a is most like Christmas blend?
Hi Charlotte! Great question about Christmas Blend. In the fall, when Starbucks launches Anniversay Blend that is probably the most similar. After that, I would think Komodo Dragon (very complex) or Sumatra (bold and it is an ingredient in Christmas Blend). Would be great if a coffee master from Starbucks dropped by and helped out.
Please poke around the site, and I hope you will “like” the Facebook page, if you haven’t done so already.
Welcome to the blog!
Melody
Hi Charlotte. I saw a few bags of Christmas Blend at the Power & Broadway Mesa, Az store. I think the phone number is 480-218-0300 if you contact them maybe they can help you
I hope that helps.
Good to know! I will stop by there to get my weekly markout. Do you know if they had Christmas Espresso? That was divine this year!
Hi Diele
The correct # is 480-807-5782… I didn’t SEE any~ but that doesn’t mean there wasn’t any.
If I see any I’ll post here.
Starbucks in the UK no longer do Estima, they stopped just after Christmas – which is a huge shame as I loved it. I was told that it won’t be coming back either…
Pike Place is now the regular filter (drip?) coffee. They also offer an alternative filter coffee on a weekly basis (though never decaf). This is how I discovered Casi Cielo (Yum!).
Thanks for an interesting site, Melody. It’s interesting to see how things differ between the US and UK.
Regards,
K
Anybody remember Peru Chanchamayo. I think we had it in our store in 2009 only for the summer though which was sad. It was very good. Fair Trade certified, usda organic mmm such a great coffee
Hi
Just thought you would like to know the following so you can keep your blog up to date.
In the UK Starbucks, we no longer offer Fair Trade Estima as a core freshly brewed coffee. It is now Fair Trade Pike Place. Also we haven’t had Arabian Mocha Sanani for a while as it was only a limited offering coffee.
We currently have Bali as a limited offering coffee. Also Pike Place 250gram bags are now sold as a core coffee in the UK.
Hope you found this information useful.
Keep up the good work.
Hi Paula – I really don’t keep this menu board up to date. I’ve thought about deleting this page but there is some historical info in it. It’s not that I don’t want to keep it up to date, but this blog sucks away a ton of my time, and it’s just one more thing that I could do.
I’m really glad you are enjoying the blog. Please click “like” on the blog’s facebook page too.
Thanks for the info!
Melody
Sadly I have not seen my favorite coffee Ethiopia Sidamo in about a year. What happened
@TimC – Welcome to the blog! How did you find me? Sidamo is no longer available at North American Starbucks. I believe that it is now offered in some of the European and other international marekts.
I once tried this holiday blend of Arabian and Kona coffee from Starbucks. It was a nutty, vanilla kind of blend. No citrus in it at all. It was a Hawaiian Holiday blend but I can’t find it and don’t remember the name of it exactly. I’ve been trying to research online to see if I can find it and have it shipped to me. It was seriously that amazing that I’ll pay extra to have it. The package had a scene on it with a dark winter night with maybe a red sled or something and there were snow flakes on the front. I’m trying to think of every detail because I really really want this coffee. Thanks for any info you can give.
do you not get Organic Ethiopia Yirgacheffe your side of the Atlantic?
@Mike Gilks: organic Ethiopia Yirgacheffe is listed above…..I think. In any case, yes, we do get it in the U.S. but very very rarely. once in a blue moon. (yrs, often, apart)
It happens to be my absolute favorite FAVORITE coffee love! ever.
@Mike and Denise – That is right – the Organic Yirgacheffe is an international core coffee only. This menu board needs a lot of updating but I haven’t in quite a while, mostly due to lack of time.
Ah i see, Yirgacheffe has never been one of my favourites by any means as I find it slightly too herbal for my taste. but on the otherhand, it’s one of the more complex coffees offered in our core line-up so I really do appreciate its fairly unique flavours! Im so eager to try the Ethiopia Ky Kerbero (sp?) as its not offered on Reserve here at the moment, (it was offered just before I got introduced to the Reserve scene) but I’ve heard some fantastic things on it and rumour has it that it might come back soon:D
@mike gilks and @denise – are those the same Yirgacheffes? I think the one Denise and I are fond of is “sun dried” but I don’t know if that makes a difference or not. (“aged” makes a difference with “Sumatra” so I’m assuming it does.)
@Cd: I think there is some difference (obviously, some degree) with the ‘sun-dried’ Yergacheffe vs. not…..but, I really think when I first fell in love with it (maybe ~95, ’96), I don’t remember that is was ;sun dried’ back then….BUT, I don’t know that I would remember . I know the beautiful poster/pic of the Sbux “Ethoipia Yergacheffe” Starbucks Coffee, and the beautifully drawn picture….that’s all it says. It’s pretty old (I was given this from a Sbux nr here being re-modeled..the rdm and dm knew I wanted one… very happy to receive. Now hangs on one of my brick walls going upstairs) Anyway, what I’m trying to say is I believe some of the newer Yergacheffe wall hangings do say “sun-dried”…have to look in my pics at the one I took in Park Ridge.
either way: I pretty much love Yergcheffe, including Intelligentsias when they have it.
@Cd; just looked at the new (also beautiful) Yergacheffe sign (as in Pk Ridge)…it only says “organic”….. no sun-dried mentioned.
@DeniseR and @CD and @Mike – Yes the process method is a big difference. The organic Yirgacheffe which is a core coffee in Europe is a washed processed method. It makes for a lighter bodied coffee. I mentioned it here –
