If you are a Starbucks enthusiast, you might like the Starbucks coffee gear merchandise store at the headquarters. This store is the place to go to for all kinds of logo-ed Starbucks stuff like t-shirts, magnets, pens, an umbrella, jackets, and more. The array of stuff available at the store changes now and then, and so it’s already time for another episode. It’s located at Starbucks Coffee Company, 2401 Utah Avenue South, 8th floor, Seattle, WA 98134. It’s open Monday through Friday, normal business hours.
If you are a partner, you can purchase this merchandise online at http://www.starbuckscoffeegear.com. That website is NOT for customers. In fact, I have never seen what that site looks like beyond that landing page. Also, please be aware that link to the online coffee gear store is for U.S. partners only. I don’t think they ship internationally, or at least that is what I’ve been told.
However, if you’re just a lowly customer like me, then you hop on Link Light rail to the SODO station, walk down Lander Street to the headquarters, and purchase as much as is humanly possible to carry in one visit (and still be able to squeeze yourself back through the Link Light rail doors).

Did they just add new things, or do you just take the pictures for different merchandise than the last time? They are gorgeous!!! Neat arrangement and got lovely little things like the bags, mouse pads and the 3rd last picture. (I’m not sure what it is. LOL) New designs on the T-shirt too. Great job as always… =)
Great visit Melody. Too bad they will not open this to customers! I could see getting the magnets and the sign language key chain. And how is the variety re tees? I am sure they do not cost $85! Do you think they would ever open an online store for customers?
@Purple1 – This store IS open to the public. @Kara86ster – A few items are new, but are the same from my March 2011 visit to this store – But I took a few things to my friend Molly for her to photograph because then you get a close up, and she’s great at taking pics with no glare.
I guess I did not properly ask the question- knew the store is open to customers but was wondering if they would allow customers to purchase online? Of course, unless you are in Seattle you cannot purchase from this store and only have options such as the new tee promotion or the starbucks store.
Love all this stuff. (this store would be the equivalant of what Niketown used to mean to me….’90′s) especially love that gray jacket? (back to us, I think) and what exactly is the pink, red bag? is it “pink”, as in for “pink” or is it “red” as in for “red” or is it a mixture?
anyway, I LOVE ALL this stuff. You’re lucky to be able to go there. I agree with purple1: would be nice if it were at least available online to the rest of the country.
Denise R we should get together and convince SB that doing an online store would be great for their bottom line especially since those tees from Nordstrom are so expensive!!! Don’t they want customers to have that connection with the brand?
Awesome pics. I’m pretty sure when I have a baby, he/she needs to have a starbucks shirt:) BTW, Thanks Mel for The Starbucks pen. Someone came to my desk at work today and said, “Oh I want that pen.” And I replied with,”Hands off.”

I love how the new Siren logo is everywhere here! Especially the magnets…would love to plaster them all over my fridge! A lot of our merchandise here still use the old logo…hope we’ll catch up soon. Thanks for the great photos, Melody

I was actually just on coffeegear yesterday and I didn’t see some of the things I see in your photos! The lunch box, the ribbon tee, the mouse pad… wonder if those are a cool perk for living in/visiting Seattle.

I would love to read that time line on the wall. Also I heard there is a shirt that says “Powered by Starbucks” which would be like the coolest shirt, oh and what if it had a fake coffee stain? anyway i would want that shirt. BTW this reminds me of apples head quarters in cupertino where they sell t-shirts, mugs, ect.
@Blakeco123 – I don’t think there is an official “powered by Starbucks” shirt. There are a few shirts and a hoodie online at StarbucksStore.com, which are not at this store, and are separate, so maybe there? This is the link about the other t-shirts –

You’re totally right about this being like what other headquarters do! I’ve heard that Microsoft has a store in their hq too with all kinds of logo stuff, and the store at the Ben & Jerry’s hq (in Vermont) is known for logo bowls and spoons, and all kinds of stuff that you can’t get elsewhere.
I just wonder if perhaps an added reward for gold membership might be to allow customers to access online the coffee gear website that partners can purchase items from? An added bonus for gold card members?
@purple Im on my phone, sorry so sloppy. I think that is a really intriguing idea. An online site for GC customers to buy stuff. I think, really only a guess, is that Starbucks doesnt want the official barista wear polos and hats just worn all the time customers. I suspect the more uniform-type pieces avail at the partner site are not thought of domething for the gen pub. But what a fun idea to have a gold crd merch site!
Melody I guess that makes sense that SB would only want some clothing to be available to partners. However, I wonder if they thought about it would perhaps having this as a gold card member reward bring more customers to the reward program or get them to the gold card level? I suppose it is a subjective issue meaning no matter what if you are going to purchase an item you would whether it came through a rewards program or not.
I guess marketing and branding people would toss this around and see if if helps the bottom line for the brand. Certainly, I think this offer might seem more attractive than the $85 tees?
I do think that Starbucks should offer more apparel to customers. I just looked online at the apparel available at starbucks.com and it is pretty lame, I’m not going to lie. There are a total of six things available, and none of them are particularly inspiring (aside from the hat). They could certainly offer more than that for customers who want to display their love of Starbucks!

I would just like to be able to order from this store ONLINE….as Purple1 said. I don’t see how that could possibly do anything but be good for Sbux.

Visiting this place is totally on my Bucket List. I see SO many things that I want to buy! I’m kind of obsessed with pens, and I absolutely love magnets. And shirts. And totes. Oh yes, I can see spending a small fortune in there! I wish they sold more of it online, as I have no idea when I’ll finally be able to visit in person!
